Dosing & Mixing

Eductors can be used for dosing and mixing of chemicals or other fluids. By using an eductor you can pump and mix in the same process which is inherently more efficient and in many cases less expensive than using separate dosing pumps and static mixers.

In most cases the eductor design will be sufficient to ensure the correct dosing / mixing rate. However dependent on the application, and if a very small suction flowrate is required, then a valve can be installed to precisely control the suction flow

Applications for mixing and dosing are predominantly in the water treatment industries but there is a large requirement for offshore and marine applications to correctly dose chemical suppressant in fire fighting systems.

The eductor can be mounted above, below or alongside the IBC or chemical container as per a standard pumping or lifting application.

Using an around the pump installation however uses the pump to power the eductor which draws in the chemical.

The eductor then discharges to the pump inlet where a secondary mixing occurs.

The pressure differential across the eductor is the same as that across the pump so there is no pressure loss in the mainline
